Neither of us had a full nights sleep because I had a fever and didn't know it until Rich woke me up telling me so. When he touched me he said I was really warm, so he thought he better check to see if I was okay. I didn't think I felt bad until I woke up enough to realize that I did ache all over and did feel hot, plus my throat was really really sore. So I took some tylenol and he put the fan on in the bedroom to add some cool air. I was able to go back to sleep.
When it was time to get up I popped right out of bed and headed for the shower. Rich asked if I was going to work today and I told him I had to because I had mail and supplies to organize for two zone conferences that the President is having on Tuesday. He would be picking them up this afternoon sometime.
Actually, I felt really good. My throat wasn't sore and my fever had gone away. I did cough a little, however. I thought I would just get the two conferences taken care of and then come home if I didn't feel good.
When the elders came in, Elder Coria said that he hadn't slept all night because he had a bad cold and couldn't breathe well during the night. Elder Hales thinks he got it from him. So that is three out of five who have been suffering with ill health this weekend. Elders Kroff and Peterson are wondering how long they can last without being hit with something.
Our first couple hours of work were intense for everyone. Each was at his desk or computer entering data or doing whatever the job requires. Since I was in my supply room, it freed up my computer for Elder Peterson to use.
Rich decided to take a break and go to the Farmacia and get me the medicine that he couldn't get yesterday. Strike two! The place was closed. On a Monday???? No sign or explanation why, just closed. Oh, well, I was having some coughing spells, but no fever or sore throat. I could last a while longer without some meds.
Then, President Argyle called to say he was coming by to have a meeting with all of us to evaluate how transfers went with the changes we made this time. He came within minutes of the call. We met in his office and discussed how things went here at the church and over at his house. We were shocked to find out that the remise taking Sister Rios to catch a flight to Peru, and Elder Zamorano to Chile got hung up in traffic due to an accident on the freeway, and both missed their flights. They had to stay overnight and fly out the next morning. How disappointing for their parents who have waited all this time and then to have their returns delayed. The bad thing was that Sister Rios' parents got the time mixed up and went to pick her up in the morning and she wasn't there, of course. Her dad called the office and we told him the flight was in the evening. So, he had already made one trip to the airport to get her. So sad!!
President Argyle is hoping to make transfers run like clockwork and fix anything that needs fixing so that when the new president comes in July and goes through his first transfer that it will be smooth and non stressful because he will not have a handle on things yet. So, it needs to be taken care of by the office staff, and if he wishes to change anything along the way, then he can.
I was able to stay all day at work feeling pretty good, but on our way home we went to a little Farmacia close to the office to see if they had the medicine I wanted. They did, so now I will be on the mend.
After dinner, we visited with Susanne and Thale on skype, did this journal entry, and now I am ready for bed. It is only 9:30.
