The days are getting warmer and the flowering bushes and trees are just gorgeous. Springtime is so beautiful here in Argentina. It's the best time of year for sure. We are glad we get to experience it once more before we go home.
Now that our girls have come and gone, we realize just how little time we have before our mission is over. Yes, we have just six weeks left and we aren't sure how we feel about it. Of course, we want to get home to our family and our little grandsons, but we can't stand the thought of leaving the wonderful members of the church that we have come to love and respect. We will probably never see them again in this lifetime.
One very faithful member of our branch is Gladi Soria. She is raising future priesthood bearers, and her calling in the branch is with the Young Women. She is a great example.
Since all members of our Sunday School marriage class were in attendance today, we decided to have a group photo. The Ailens and Sarachos are in front with Garcias and Vegas in the back. We have enjoyed getting to know these couples as they have participated in the discussions.
Maria Vecchiarelli was not at church last Sunday when our girls were with us, and we had a mini quilt for her. She has been a loving friend and I wanted her to have one. Even before I gave it to her, she realized that she had missed seeing our daughters and came up to me and said she was sorry she wasn't at church last week to meet them. She was overjoyed with the gift and impressed that it was handmade by my daughter.
Throughout the day at church, a lot of members asked about our girls and if they had gone back and how nice it was to meet them last week. Most asked if we were sad to see them go.
We spent a quiet Sunday afternoon at home. We had pork chops, potatoes, and tossed salad for dinner with strawberry shortcake for dessert. This is the season for frutilla (strawberries).
No skype calls tonight.
