I am quite enjoying having Rich get up before me and getting the house warmed up. This is the second time in a week. Today he had to go to the church earlier than usual to work on his marriage class lesson, so he needed to get in the shower first. But, that twenty to thirty minutes surely goes fast.
Since we parked the car in our parking lot here at our place over night, he was going to drive it to the office and then I would follow along walking. But before I left home, Rich came back. It wasn't necessarily to pick me up, but in the dark when he left earlier he couldn't see well enough to get the car out of the parking space. Another car was close to him and he had to back out at an angle. He needed another person outside of the vehicle to help him negotiate the back end of the car and the front end so he wouldn't hit the car next to him. That would be me.
It's like a broken record -- the church was cold as usual. We hover around the wall heater until it is absolutely necessary to go to class. Good thing for thermal underwear! By the time Sacrament meeting was over both of us were chilled to the bone.
Our marriage relations class had three couples in it today. We know of four who are to attend, but maybe there will be more added next week. Today we mainly went over the Proclamation to the World, on families. The response was favorable so I think the class will go well.
It was High Council Sunday with a youth speaker for Sacrament meeting. Two speakers are perfect because then the meeting ends on time.
Following the closing prayer, Rich coordinated with Ezequiel what time they would go Home Teaching today. They are trying to locate two people who are on their list who do not attend church and they need daylight hours to find where each lives. Rich was able to take the car and picked Ezequiel up at 4:00. A car saves SO much traveling time, and it was especially helpful today because they really didn't know where they were going. Buses and walking would have been difficult. One had moved, and the other wasn't home. They will try again on Tuesday for the not home member.
We had spaghetti and salad for dinner and it tasted so good. We love it, and I don't know why I don't fix it more often.
Refraining from taking a nap on Sunday proved beneficial in getting two entries posted. It is only 6:50, and the nights still young. Maybe I can get a couple emails written.
You guys are such a cute missionary couple! Love reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to imagine how cold it has to be in your church building! It doesn't fit our image of Argentina! You're good sports, great missionaries.
