A Double Date

The weather was gorgeous today. The temperature is creeping up each day and by next Tuesday, it will be 76 degrees. Then it is suppose to rain on Wednesday. But we will take the good days when they come and be grateful for them.

We really never have bad days at work. We enjoy going, and although some times it seems the work piles up and we think we will never get it done, we enjoy the challenge.

We were motivated to get our work done timely today because we didn't want to stay late today. The Argyles called yesterday and asked us if we would like to go out with them on Friday night. Would we ever!! We didn't have to think twice about it. They wanted to go to dinner at an Italian Restaurant called La Bistecca. They offered to come to San Fernando and pick us up, but then we would have to backtrack to get to the restaurant. We offered to take a remise to their house and just leave from there.

The restaurants close in the afternoons and don't open back up until 8:00 in the evening. La Bistecca is a pretty swanky place. It has a buffet, or one can order from the menu. We were there right about 8:00 and had to wait 15 minutes until all the food was out (for the buffet). It was a really large place and not many people were there as early as 8:00. They told us that by the time we were through, the place would be filled up. And, it was!

We decided to eat from the buffet and it was one delicious experience. The items on the salad bar were really different and we tasted several things. It was more like hordervs than things to put on lettuce. Then, they had lots of different pasta type dishes, and vegetables, and a ton of different meats on the grill. We followed after the President and took the same cuts of meat that he did. Sister Argyle is big on the pastas -- President said it is because she served her mission in Italy. (ha)

They had a pizza oven and the pizza was prepared and tasted just like we remembered eating when we were in Italy -- with olive oil, stewed tomatoes, and cheese. Yum!

We had a great time and it was fun to see the President in a casual setting -- and eating. We never see him eat. At zone conference when we are eating, he is interviewing the missionaries. He was really enjoying the food, as were we. The meal for two of us was $33. Not bad.

We got home at 11:00 and try as I might, I couldn't stay awake at the computer to do the blog. So I gave in and went to bed. We enjoyed our Friday night date night with the Argyles. Hope they invite us again sometime. Stay tuned for our Saturday entry. We did another fun thing.
