We wanted to leave the office early today to get the MRI, but that didn't happen. Rich called to make an appointment, but they said that wasn't necessary. We just go, take a number, and wait for his turn. But, the President was stopping by the office to get some money to take South when he leaves tonight for the zone conferences down there, and we felt we should be there when he came. By the time he came and left, there wasn't time to go. They closed at 7:00 p.m. So we could go tomorrow, but feel it would be super busy on a Saturday. So it looks like it will be Monday. An interesting thing about the MRI is the price. It costs between 300 and 500 pesos which would be around $150. . . . a far cry cheaper than at home, I'd say.
This put a damper on our Friday night activity. We really wanted to go shopping for our grandson, Mekhi's, birthday present, but we were confined to home. So, we downloaded the movie "Bridge to Terabithia". Rich said we read it to our children when they were young, but I didn't recall one thing about it. The movie was great. I was trying to work on this entry, but got so involved watching the movie, that I couldn't concentrate on writing.
Today at the office I got caught up on a few things, and it felt good to mark them off my list. I took some time to go over to the cold chapel and practice the hymns that I am going to play for church on Sunday. I should probably go back tomorrow and practice some more, but I don't know if that will happen. The elders are picking us up at 11:00 to go food shopping with them. They are so good to us. Elder Valente calls and checks up on us sometimes. He likes to mother us and take care of us. It's cute! But when the food shopping trip is over, what will we do all day? Yuk! It just doesn't take long to clean these three rooms.
I mentioned in an earlier blog entry that we are losing one of our mission cars, and that it would be our office car. Depressing! We thought it would be in a couple months, or whenever the time came that they updated and changed vehicles. Well, today Rich read an email that basically asked, "What car are we giving them, and when can they come and get it." It makes me sick. Our mission just went up in price. It is going to cost us more now because we will have to pay remise fares to get places. It is certainly going to limit, even squelch any close by sightseeing trips within our mission that we may want to take.
We love what we are doing even though Satan is trying to discourage us by throwing challenges in our path. We know we are here doing what Heavenly Father wants us to do and He's the one that counts. The days just zip by and the week is over. We can't believe how fast time seems to be going.
We agree with you that the time is just flying by. We've already almost come to our halfway point. We're sorry to read about Rich's knee, but we're sure he'll get it back in shape soon. Here in Switzerland with the public transportation we can get almost anywhere. Buses even take us into the most hinter parts of the country. The only problem is we are limited to the German speaking part of Switzerland and the small part of Germany. Keep up the good work and be happy! the Larsons
