Another beautiful morning and no one is complaining! The elders wear their black pull over sweaters, but not their coats. We expect it to change momentarily, but these good days keep hanging in there.
I was so glad to get back to a normal schedule today. I had a stack of baptisms facing me, so I knew what I would be doing. The internet was still down today and no sign of a repairman. The work order sent in said they would be here in 72 hours. I can enter baptisms into the computer without the internet, but I can't send them off without it up and running.
There was a lot of activity in the office again today. The three Assistants work from the President's office, and were coming and going, and milling about most of the morning, then left to go teach and came back later in the afternoon.
Elders Cruz and Sanchez who are returning to Mexico had to wait until tonight to catch their flight, so they stayed with the office elders and hung around the office all day, went on some errands with them, and tried to pass the time of day. The remise picked them up to take them to the airport at 5:00 this afternoon.
Sister Reese wasn't so lucky last night when she got to the airport. The plane to the U.S. was having problems and was delayed. Then when the problems couldn't be fixed timely, they cancelled the flight. So the President had Elders Peterson and Paz go to the airport to get her and take her to some of the sisters nearest to the airport to spend the night. He didn't want her going with a remise driver alone at night. She was scheduled to leave on tonight's flight to the states.
The afternoon slipped by quickly and after the elders from Mexico left, we wrapped things up and left the office around 6:00. Rich had to take some work home to do from his home computer because of the internet problem at the office. I had an email I had to get sent off too.
Our evening was more of the same, and after eating homemade pizza for dinner and checking blogs, emails, and facebook comments, I worked on this jounal entry.
I do hope our office elders get a good nights sleep tonight. It's been a wild week.
