A Normal Day - Tuesday, July 27, 2010

What a change in weather in just 24 hours. Sunny, bright, beautiful day with the projected high in the low 60's. We don't know if it got that high, but it was comfortable outside. By afternoon some people were carrying their jackets, not wearing them. Rich walked to the correo in the afternoon and said he was a little over dressed. But, we won't get our hopes up, this is still winter. Our office remained rather cool.

Our day in the office was more back to normal than it's been for the last three weeks. It felt good to have a calm day where I could focus on getting to some of my tasks that have been on the back burner. I still have two more zones left to fill supply orders for, but that can wait until tomorrow. I worked on tablero cards for the missionary board for those coming in the August transfer, and got all the boxes for the South taped up and ready for pickup tomorrow.

Rich came back from the bank smiling with success as he was able to cash the check the President signed yesterday -- the one that didn't look like his signature on the bank record. He, and others, always pick the line of the friendly teller who knows him by name. The grouchy male who won't give an inch and screens things carefully is always waiting for customers and only the unsuspecting pick his line.

Elder Hales and Elder Kroff worked together getting everything in order for the rents to be paid at the first of the month. There were a couple of new things they had to enter into the system in order for some landlords to receive their money. It is always a job, but soooo much more organized than ever before.

Elder Peterson spent the day getting paperwork in order for the elders he is taking to Immigrations tomorrow. It is the least favorite part of his job, but he is pleasant about it and takes it in stride.

Today was Chinese Tuesday where we order out Chinese food for lunch. It tasted really good and we are amazed at how it seems to multiply as we begin eating. It doesn't seem like a lot in the sack, but it expands when we open the containers. It is plenty for the four of us.

Nothing prevented any of us from leaving the office at 4:00. The elders left on time and had a full evening of appointments planned. I was super tired today and had a little jabbing headache pain in my head all day. Tylenol took care of it, but I wanted a nap. So I slept for an hour after getting home.

We had hotdogs and chips for dinner -- nothing exciting, and then I worked on this journal entry. Rich went back to the church at 8:45 to meet with the elders as they taught an after baptism lesson to Lidia. She is coming every week and doing so well. Her countenance glows! That's what the gospel does, it changes lives!

  1. I have to laugh about the grouchy teller. It made my moment.
