I wanted to get to the office early today because I had a lot of medical calls to log in. I received a lot of calls last week, and because it was such a busy time for me dealing with the supplies and mail I didn't have time to properly take care of the medical side of things. It had to be done today!! Then I had to finish entering the 22 baptisms and get the supplies ready to ship to the South. Well, the medical stuff took most of the morning, and then I did work on the baptisms, but never got to the supplies for the South.
The President emailed me wanting to know if the tablero cards for those coming in the July transfer were done. He is going to figure out the changes and put the newcomers where they will be needed and with a proper companion. President Gulbrandsen will be too new to the mission to be able to figure out what should be done or what would work, so President Argyle is going to do that transfer for him and then if there are any last minute switcheroos he wants to make, then he can do it. But, the bulk of it will be in order. So I had to take time this afternoon to finish the cards so he can add them to the transfer board.
That is when my depression set in!!! I found out that the magnetic strips that I spent five hours adhering to all the existing tablero cards last Friday at the mission home do not stick to the new magnetic board they have ordered. There is one in the President's office where we are and as I tried it out today, nothing held. They all slid down. I didn't realize, until Sister Argyle told me on Friday, that the board they ordered is just like the one at the mission office. We assumed it would work, and I didn't have a chance to try it out before I started on the project at the mission home. I could cry and scream!
Now what to do? We don't know where to find any magnetic strips that are stronger than those we found. Neither do we have the time nor transportation to go searching. It was interesting that the magnetic strips would stick on the metal filing cabinet just fine, but would not stick on the white board which is magnetized also. Sooooo discouraging!! I emailed Sister Argyle about it, but haven't heard back yet. I wonder if the Gulbrandsens could bring something from the states that would stick on a white board?
Elder Hales worked with Silvio in the morning trying to work out apartment problems some elders are having, and worked with Elder Kroff in the afternoon on rents. More and more are being switch to electronic payments. Progress is being made.
Elder Peterson worked on collecting the data from the baptisms last week, which only produced eleven. Oh dear! That's not good news! Then he spent the afternoon getting several packets ready for missionaries needing to go to Immigrations.
The Argyle family had the first of their final zone conferences today. We are anxious to hear how it went. Our time with them will be on Wednesday.
Our evening was routine with dinner and doing this entry. I wonder if the magnets will work tomorrow???
Oh, Sister Kroff, I'm sorry that your magnets didn't work!! I'm just getting a package ready to send to Elder Hales. Do you want me to find some good magnets here and send them in the package? Just give me a thumbs up and I'll go buy some tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sister Hales - I will email you.
