Accomplishments - Wednesday, May 5, 2010

Our morning routine went smoothly with scriptures (we are starting over in the Book of Mormon), breakfast, prayer, and following our pioneers across the plains. In the story now, Brigham Young has found out more wagons and handcarts are coming and he is sending the rescue parties out to meet them. Their hardships are heart wrenching.

When we arrived at the office, Sister Argyle was waiting in her van for either us or the elders to come. She had left a disk in her computer that she needed to take with her to another zone conference today and her computer was in our office to be used for an English test later today. We chatted for a couple of minutes and then off she went.

In a way it was a laid back day with a lot of visiting and fun conversations, but we each accomplished something of worth at our desks.

Elder Peterson finally fixed the problem with our computer program that we have been stressing over. So far, so good!! He was overjoyed!

Elder Hales received paperwork back from a few landlords who are signing up to have rent paid to them electronically. At least it is a start with the hope that more are to come. He was also excited that he had convinced another landlord to come by our office to pick up his rent since he didn't want to do the electronic transfer.

Elder Kroff wrote two checks, balanced his drawer and helped Elder Hales with the rent issues.

And, I got all my baptisms entered by the deadline which is tomorrow, and finally received the flight plans for our three Latinos going home June 2, which I emailed to their parents immediately. That's a big relief for me! Travel was so slow in sending them to me this time, and I was getting frustrated with them.

Elder Rauch came to take the English test and felt he did pretty good. We don't know this elder very well, but he was a pleasant young man and so excited to call home on Mother's Day this Sunday. It really isn't Mother's Day for any missionaries except for the North Americans, but all the missionaries get the privilege of talking to their mothers on Sunday. Just like on Christmas day, Elder Kroff will man the command center all day to trouble shoot any calls that cannot get through. Meaning, he will correct any phone numbers that the parents have that are wrong. They have been emailed his cell phone number to call if they can't make contact with their missionary.

Sister Argyle stopped by the office again on her way home from the zone conference to pick up her computer, so we didn't leave the office until 5:30 today. While walking home, we heard a young voice from a vehicle yell, "Elder Kroff", and out jumped Elisa Gauna. She is in our Temple Prep class and she wanted to know if the class could be held on a week night instead of Sunday because her boyfriend wanted to attend, and Rich thinks she said there may be some other people she knows who are interested. He'll have to talk to her more about it on Sunday.

Our evenings are about as routine as our mornings. We did talk to Marianne on skype and wish her a safe trip as she flies to Denver tomorrow to see Melissa. We hope they have a nice time together.

Nothing to take a picture of today -- just office work.
