The weather is perfect right now. Cool nights, sunny warm days in the 70's, low or no humidity. Couldn't be better!! Love it!!
Since I didn't have a ton of work staring me in the face today, I let Rich go ahead of me to the office and I stayed behind to write an email. I didn't even ask permission, I just did it.
While at home I did get a couple of doctor calls, and didn't let on that I was not at my desk. When I got to the office I called Dr. Anderson about a matter and he is so personable and friendly. I am so glad he is so easy to talk to. But then, Dr. Petersen was too. I don't know what I expected -- they are missionaries and here to serve. Before I hung up with Dr. Anderson, he said, "Now . . . how are you?" "Are you doing okay?" How nice!
I found things to fill the hours of the day, but was not pressured at all. Seemed strange, but nice for a change. Rich left for a couple hours to pay some bills, so it was just me and the elders.
The parents of both of these elders have done a good job in rearing them. They are wonderful!
Elder Kroff is preparing for an audit that is taking place tomorrow. Marco Hornos from Bonpland who is the financial guy over Rich is coming at 9:00 in the morning. So he stayed later than I to balance his drawer and get things ready. I came home to iron shirts and make cookies. Marco came to our office early in our mission to train Rich in a couple of things and I had made sloppy joes to share with the elders for lunch. We invited Marco eat with us and that day I also brought some chocolate chip cookies that I had made. They really weren't very good and were a little over done. But he just loved them and since that time has asked when I was going to send him some cookies. He jokes with Rich that he knows they came to his office, but someone has taken them. Well, I have some squash frozen that I use to make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, so I made a batch tonight and will give him a bag to take with him tomorrow. That should please him.
I didn't sleep well last night, so after ironing one more shirt, I'm off to bed.
You know Julie, when I was a missionary we called that being trunky!
ReplyDeleteReally?? Well, I better repent! I'm really not ready to go home just yet. Nice to hear from you.
