We left at 8:00 instead of 8:15 today. So, I had 45 minutes at the piano to go over the music for the program and the hymns for sacrament meeting -- time well spent!!
There were about 10 children altogether that participated in the program. I understood that the children were just going to sing and not have any parts to say at the pulpit. That was not the case. The children did read small parts and they did very well. When sacrament meeting was over, I was one happy camper. I was glad to help, but didn't want to ruin the songs by making mistakes. I think everything went okay.
Today, the fifteen ceiling fans in the chapel were needed. It was warm and humid in the church and the fans kept the air moving. All the classrooms have fans too.
Nothing detained us after church, so we were up and out of the building to try and catch the 12:15 bus. We were on it and home by 12:30 today. If we miss that bus, we have to wait about 30 to 45 minutes for another. It felt good to be home early.
Easy dinner today as it was left overs from our meal on Christmas. And, I am taking the rest of it to the office for the elders to have a second meal of it. I really made a lot of everything. I don't know why I thought the elders would eat so much on Christmas.
I began working on our journal entry from yesterday and Elder Kroff had to go to the office to let an elder, who could not make connections with his parents on Christmas, call them from our land line. He is a brand new elder just arriving here two weeks ago. I'm sure his parents were anxious to see how he was doing as they told Rich in one of his many calls to get the two parties together, that this elder's twin brother went to Paraguay and has had to come home. He was having problems and did not want to stay on his mission. They were hoping the same thing would not happen to our elder.
Tomorrow is our zone conference so that will take us out of the office for half of the day, and then we are playing on Tuesday and won't be to work. But, I have so much work to do this week that I am a little nervous about being gone from my desk that much. Oh well, I guess it will get done one way or the other.
Our daughter Melissa's sister-in-law, Melissa, is still fighting for her life. A couple days before Christmas it looked pretty bleak. Her pancreas was dying and part of it has been removed, and her large intestines were dying and had to be removed. Also they were able to take her gall bladder out which started this whole thing. She was so full of infection for so long that it has damaged her organs. But now they have it under control and she has had a few better days. She is responsive and is breathing more on her own. However, I don't think her kidneys have started up again. She has been on continuous dialysis to help remove the built up fluid she is retaining. We still pray for her every day.
