Since Rich could walk to work today with one crutch to help him along, we left at our usual time around 8:30. We didn't have to wait for a ride from the elders. It is a good thing the skies were clear and not raining because our walk was slower than usual.
Today I was busy getting the order of supplies packed and ready to send down south. They need to arrive before the President goes down for the zone conferences there. It took me most of the day. A couple medical calls came in this morning from elders with problems. So I had to call Dr. Petersen with the complaints and get direction on how to help the missionaries. Dealing with that and the supply orders, caused me to neglect entering baptisms today. I can't neglect them tomorrow. I need to be on top of it. Elder Kroff worked on paying bills, and balancing money and doing what financial secretaries do. I was too busy to keep track of his work load.
All five of us stayed in the office all day. The elders didn't have any errands to run. They did keep going back and forth from the office into the church wondering when lunch would be ready because today is a holiday. Every time we turn around it seems the Argentines are celebrating something. Today is General Martin's Day. He is the one who liberated Argentina from the Spanish rule.
Today they had sandwiches which consisted of chorizo sausage served between bread, and hamburgers served the same way. There wasn't any mustard, catsup, or mayo -- nothing. When we were all through with our hamburger sandwich, then we saw someone with some mayo. Some families bring salad or other things to eat with the sandwiches, but we just ate the chorizo and hamburger on bread. It was filling, but not as tasty as some meals we have had.
The President came by on his way home from the first zone conference to return the empty bins and load the car with the goods for Tuesday's conference. We will see him a lot this week because of this schedule.
After the office, we walked to Disco to shop for a couple items. We couldn't buy very much because I was the only one with free hands to carry the bags. Rich elected to take the muletas to help with his walking. We got a few things to add to what we bought a few weeks ago when we anticipated being grounded due to the surgery. He was pooped when we got home, and took a short nap. Then we watched another classic, Dial M for Murder.
