It must have been because of transfer week and Rich's surgery that this week just sailed by. Last night while coming home from the office, we could not believe it was Friday. It seemed just like yesterday that we were in the clinic preparing for knee surgery, and now the week was over. We were tired, so we were glad the weekend was here.
This morning Elders Nelson and Paz picked Elder Kroff and me up to go to the mission home to deliver our short segments of training to the Zone Leaders meeting. During this transfer, several leaders in the mission went home, so new Zone Leaders and District Leaders were selected. Since I have been invited by the President to instruct the Zone Leaders about the importance of having the baptism registers filled out neatly and correctly, things have improved. They pass the information down the line to their District Leaders who actually do the baptism interview and fill out the form. So my sample sheets with important areas highlighted seem to help. Rich had some information relating to reimbursements for medical claims to tell them this time, and Elder Paz had his first assignment in his training from Elder Valente to talk about areas of concern regarding apartments. When we were through, the office staff departed the scene. Elder Valente had left with Silvio to do contracts and run some errands, when the rest of us left for the mission home.
Upon returning to the office, we had our own staff meeting. The President asked us to evaluate the transfers this time and see where things went well and areas of concern that could be improved. Elder Kroff is to email him our findings.
I worked on preparing the bins of supplies and mail to be taken to the first Zone Conference on Monday. We weren't sure when the President would come to pick up his car, so I needed to get everything ready to be loaded into it. I didn't want him waiting on my account. However, I knew he was tied up today until later this afternoon.
We were all busy throughout the day. I worked on entering baptisms, Elders Kroff and Valente went to buy a refrigerator for an apartment, and Elders Nelson and Paz went to the correo to mail some things I really needed to be on their way, and then they washed and put gas in the car.
I have been so busy all week, that I hadn't had time to pick out the hymns for Sacrament Meeting. It's Friday, so this is my last chance to go over to the chapel and practice them on the piano. I needed to take time to do that.
We didn't know they were having a wedding here tonight. The cultural hall was all decorated for the happy event. The weddings that we have seen in the church have all had lots of balloons. That must be a popular decoration for receptions.
We spent a quiet Friday night at home, and Rich was grateful to sit on the couch all night and rest his leg.
