The power still wasn't on, but we had hot showers and that felt good because we had no heat in the house. There was enough light from the balcony window to see to do my makeup, but what about my hair? I need my curling iron!!! Rich was able to see good enough to shave and get ready. So he didn't suffer much. All I could do was fluff up my hair and re-comb it the best I could. It actually didn't look too bad. It was a little flatter than I usually wear it, but my girls would think it was perfect.
Rich left on foot to the office before me, since he has to go slow with the crutches. But the bad thing was that the elevator didn't work either, so he had to carefully go down 5 flights of stairs. I finished getting ready, and made us a lunch and then headed out. But we were both late for work. I didn't get there until around 10:00. Elder Valente said that if I am late tomorrow, that he is telling the boss and docking my pay.
I started making my list of missionary supplies that needed ordering, and processing 6 missionary applications that came today. These are elders that will arrive in November and December. Rich continued entering apartment information into IMOS.
Today was really windy and just freezing. It was the coldest day we have had. It was 39 degrees while walking home around 6:30 tonight. We had to leave at 4:00 to go buy a refrigerator for one of the missionary apartments. Since Elder Kroff is the finance man, it is easier if he is the one to purchase it. After that stop, we went to Carrefour (that's a main store here, too, Doyles) in order to pick up a couple things we needed. Then we took the car back to the office, and walked home.
Yeah! the lights were on and the heater was working. But we have been cold all night. We can't get warm. We have the heater jacked up, but we still feel chilled. I'm sure that sounds weird to those in the Utah 100 degree temperatures that have been surfacing from time to time.
Sister Argyle emailed me some pictures of her children playing in the snow down in Ushuaia. Another city, Cordoba, was having snow today too. We saw it on the news when we were at the store buying the refrigerator. So I guess winter is finally here.
Hey, this is a round about way of making a comment on your blog--I had to write in a friend's email address, then my comment went to that address (Denny's), then I clicked on your link and got a box to post a comment. for heaven's sake! Wanted to wish you well on Sunday's MRI! That pizza sure looked wonderful. Love your blogs. We read the old ones when you haven't got up the new! Love, Doyles
