We can't believe how fast the weeks go by. It seems like Monday was just yesterday, and here the weekend is approaching. We have had the first week of Zone Conferences, which creates a variety of things for the office staff to accomplish.
Today wasn't a very good day for equipment around the office. We have a terrible phone system that is always having problems. Right from the start when the office moved to this new location, the phones have had static in them. We have two lines, and invariably one is always down. Therefore, our fax machine won't work well because of the phone problems. I depend on the fax machine a lot, and it puts me behind in entering baptisms when it is down. Then Rich's printer is an antique model and keeps jamming. It really needs to be replaced. He needs a good one because he depends on it to print checks.
Before leaving the office for the night, we had to wait for President Argyle to come and sign some things. He came, signed the necessary papers, then sat down and visited for almost an hour. He told us some of the things he is talking about to the missionaries in the Zone Conferences. Last October 1st, the mission made a goal to double the baptisms in the next year. We are 130 baptisms down, and only have three months to go. So, he has been addressing that issue, and has been encouraging the missionaries to accomplish the goal. It was so interesting to sit and listen to him talk about it in English, because at the conferences he only speaks Spanish. Now, I will know what he is talking about even if I can't understand much. Our zone conference is this coming Monday. It is held at the church where our office is.
It was 7:00 before we got home, so we have had an uneventful Friday night. No date night tonight. It is quite cool outside, so we didn't feel like walking around the area. I get the computer to work on, so we are grateful for a TV so Rich can surf around and try to find something interesting to watch.
We are trying to decide what to do tomorrow, or where to go. We may take a train ride to another area just to see what's there.
You get a date night while serving a mission?
