Melissa here. Marianne and I received this email this afternoon from my parents. Their apartment was robbed today and the scavengers took everything but the clothes.
I'm posting some of the email that Mom sent as it explains in her words what happened.

I am writing this email from the office computer because today while we were at work, someone broke into our apartment and went through the whole place.
We first noticed that our computers were not on the table. We stared at each other in disbelief. We didn't go home for lunch today so we don't know if this was a morning job or afternoon.
We got home about 5.00 tonight. As we looked around we became more sick. They took our video camera and the larger black camera, ALL my jewelry which includes the diamond heart necklace from Grandma, my Israel one, and the one Melissa gave me for Mother's Day. I did have my watch on and my two rings, thankgoodness. But Dad didn't wear his watch today and they took that. He's been worried and protective of it and not wearing it because that would be something a thief on the street would take if they robbed us.
They took my blow dryer, two curling irons, (and our) hair clippers. They even took Dad's razor and shaving cream. We are in shock!!
We came right back to the office to call the president, but Dad went back home to get a number of a contact for our apartment building.
And here we thought we were safe locked behind the front door of the building. This must have been an inside job or something. There is a way to double lock our door, but we haven't done that because we felt safe and who knows us?
As I sit here writing this I feel so violated and devastated. I can't believe this has happened. "Things" can be replaced, but I feel so bad about Grandma's necklace, the computers which were our life line to the outside world, and Dad's watch which he loved.
Our bed had been rumpled and sheets pulled out so we know they had looked under the mattress to see if we stored valuables there. I just want to throw up.
We did have our debit cards on us, and no money in the drawers.

If I have any more info, I will post it here on their blog unless Dad finds a way to blog himself.
Thank you for keeping them in your prayers,
Melissa
