Gral. Lavalle 1828
1646 San Fernando
Buenos Aires
Argentina
Gral. Lavalle is the name of the street. 1828 is the number. 1646 is the zip code. San Fernando is the name of an area in Buenos Aires, but outside of the center of the city.
If a letter is to be sent to us by the Church's pouch system, where just U.S. postage is required, it has to be a 10 x 13 sheet of paper folded in thirds and taped together at the top. Envelopes cannot be sent by pouch. I will get that address and post it sometime.
This is our kitchen. It is a narrow strip and the counter separates the kitchen from the living room. At the far end by the door is a washing machine. They don't have dryers in homes in Argentina (only at the Lavaderos which are where one can drop off laundry to be done) The counter top is granite. It seems so strange to have that nice of a countertop in a small apartment.
This is the bedroom, of course, where what you see is what fits in the room. We have two small chest of drawers that are in the closet. On the side of the bed that is not shown is just the wall and Rich's shoes are lined up against the wall. No room for them in the closet. My shoes, however, are in the closet. Now who made that decision???
Just arrived at apartment, suitcases not unloaded yet. The bouquet of flowers and card that I am holding were there from the office Elders welcoming us to the mission.
Our first photo with President and Sister Argyle. After picking us up at the airport on the 11th, we stopped by the temple. It is really pretty.

Back to a picture at the apartment. This is entering the door of apartment building upon arriving. We are on the 5th floor (top floor) of the building. Good thing there are elevators. Everything here is under lock and key. We have keys for everything. We took a picture of the keys that we will share later. But even to get out of the building, we have to unlock the door. Our apartment door automatically locks behind us, and we don´t have to unlock that one to exit, but most other doors we leave have to be unlocked to get out. Interesting, huh! They are very territorial here and there are fences and gates around everything. There is probably a lot of theft and vandalism.
We love hearing about your life there...we're always thinking of you and of course, you are always in our prayers!
